Print, stitch and mixed media - using the skills I've learned over my many years I simply love to create. I'm inspired by my surroundings especially nature - plants and birds but especially the East Neuk of Fife, here the colours and textures are wonderful. I'm currently studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee for my degree in Textile Design.
In April 2012 I was awarded 1st place in the UK final of The Society of Dyers and Colourists International Competition.
I am a member of the DCA print studio in Dundee. It's an incredible place to learn, experiment and meet other artists from many disciplines. At present I'm exploring the world of etching and collagraph printmaking.
Prior to my degree I studied Textile Art at Dundee College and have been very fortunate to be taught by amazing tutors. In 2009 I was awarded a City and Guilds Medal for Excellence Highly Commended Certificate and the Iain Macmillan Memorial Prize and in 2010 was awarded the Dyer Trade Award.
My amazing husband Jim, has recently transformed our little garden shed into a print room for me, I'm so excited to say I will be able to print my textiles here.
